Welcome to Restía

Greetings. I am Panagiotis, born and raised in Donoussa and I warmly welcome you to our home, RESTíA.

For those who may wonder, Restia, or as it’s also known, ‘apothalassia,’ is a silent wave. When the wind falls silent, the sea does not immediately calm. It remains somewhat turbulent, unseen to the eye. This is Restia.

LIFE FROM HIGH ABOVE

As you gaze upon the village from the harbor, Restia stands there, high above. This is how the world describes our location. A six-minute uphill journey, and you’re here. That’s all it takes to find what your soul awaits. The endless Aegean. Cobbled paths and stairs, small bougainvillea-filled nooks, gardens with seeds from our grandfathers, basil, mint, ampelopsis and royal jasmine, all appearing here and there, each with the purpose of harmonizing us to the same rhythm of the waves. Those of Restia! So welcome back and welcome home!

RESTíA consists of 11 rooms, spread across two floors. Most of them are designed for two people, but because all the good ones can fit, we have provided for larger rooms that can accommodate up to four people. As for our architecture, both structurally and aesthetically, it perfectly embodies Cycladic simplicity, minimalist mood, and elegance. .

SIMADOURA

FOOD FILLED WITH LOVE

Right next to Restia lies an Aegean terrace, full of scents and selected flavors. Its name, Simadoura. In this beautiful little restaurant, you’ll have the chance to taste a blend of local and Cretan, but definitely Mediterranean cuisine. Ms. Chrysa, who is always behind the pots and pans, preparing homemade dishes, will be the one to warmly welcome you, ensuring you feel at home.
